Stainless Steel 418 (UNS S41800) Bars are one of the most popular martensitic stainless steels due to their high strength, hardness, and wear resistance properties. Its attractive appearance makes it suitable for applications where aesthetics are important. The addition of sulfur in Stainless Steel 418 Bars helps increase machinability with little effect on corrosion resistance, making them an ideal choice for many engineering components.
Typical applications of Stainless Steel 418 Bars include turbine blades, cutlery, hand tools, chisels & dies, as well as bushings and bearings. They can also be used for cryogenic storage vessels, pump shafts, and valves to name a few.
Our Stainless Steel 418 Bars have excellent toughness at high temperatures and offer good creep strength up to 538°C (1000°F). They also have a very good oxidation resistance up to 871°C (1600°F) in intermittent service, as well as superior carburizing properties.
We stock our Stainless Steel 418 Bars in a variety of different sizes to suit your needs. We also offer custom cutting services so you can get the exact size and shape that you need for your project. Our bars are fully certified, ensuring they meet all relevant industry specifications.
