What is Titanium Grade 2?
Titanium Grade 2 has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any corrosion-resistant material. Grade 2 Titanium is one of the most common, and it is used for offshore oil installations, water pipelines, bleaching plants in the paper industry, and condenser tubing, as well as heat exchangers in some applications. Titanium Grade 2 has a high density and is a good thermal conductor. The modulus of elasticity is also excellent, and the melting point in this grade is 3040 degrees Celsius. It has high tensile and yield strength. It comes in hot rolled, dull finish, smooth finish, bright cold rolled matte finish, and other finishes.
What are Titanium Grade 2 Fittings?
Titanium Grade 2 Fittings are made of pure titanium and are widely used in industrial applications. These fittings are characterized by excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion cracking. They are also resistant to corrosion caused by carbon-based acids. They also have outstanding strength at high temperatures. These fittings are commonly used in the aerospace and automotive industries.
Titanium Grade 2 Fittings and Titanium Grade 3 Fittings are available in various sizes and shapes. They are very cost-efficient. Moreover, these fittings allow tubing connections without breaking or splitting.
Titanium Gr 2 Fittings feature superior corrosion resistance, dimensional accuracy, and high strength. They are also highly suited for chemical applications and are resistant to carburization corrosion. They are highly ductile and weldable. Their superior qualities make them the first choice for various industries.
Titanium Grade 2 is commercially pure and has the same properties as Titanium Grade 1 Fittings. However, the material is slightly stronger. It is also suited for marine applications. It is easy to machine, heat-work, and weld. For optimal results, work with Titanium Grade 2 at temperatures between 400 and 600degF. Stress relieving should be carried out at temperatures between 900 and 1100degF, and annealing is usually carried out between 1200 and 1400degF for 6 minutes to two hours.
Titanium Grade 2 Fittings are widely used in a variety of industries as compared to Titanium Gr 5 Fittings. They are highly durable and have great resistance to intergranular corrosion. Moreover, they are corrosion-resistant and have excellent dimensional accuracy. They are also resistant to high temperatures and are extensively used in offshore oil drilling and specialty chemicals industries.
