The combination of high chromium and nickel content, as well as molybdenum and copper additives, ensures good to outstanding corrosion resistance. 904L’s highly alloyed chemistry of 25% nickel, and 4.5 percent molybdenum gives good chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and general corrosion resistance.
