Kovar Sheet is an alloy composed of nickel, cobalt, and iron. It has excellent mechanical properties and a very low coefficient of thermal expansion. Kovar Plate is also available in a variety of thicknesses to suit your needs. The material can be machined, formed, or stamped into complex shapes with superior dimensional control over other alloys. Kovar foils are ideal for applications where high electrical conductivity and constrained materials expansion are required. They provide superior corrosion resistance in aggressive environments and offer excellent weldability making them ideal for most industries including aerospace, electronics, medical, telecommunications, and automotive. Kovar Sheet offers many advantages for demanding applications requiring precision manufacturing capability.
Lint Steels is a renowned Producer, stockist, and supplier of high-quality Kovar Sheets. We are providing these Kovar Plates as per the dimensions desired by our clients. We are using the best available raw materials for the production of these Kovar Coils.
It is an alloy mixed mainly of Iron, nickel, and cobalt and has heat expansion qualities as heat-resistant glass. It is regularly fused to glass to form a gas seal. The coefficient of thermal expansion is the most essential mechanical feature of Kovar. The alloy is precisely fabricated and controlled to manufacture a coefficient of thermal expansion that is very close to that of hard glass (e.g. borosilicate glass) or ceramic, which means that it expands and contracts at the same rate.
Table of Content
The Sheet is a controlled expansion alloy. It is a Nickel Iron alloy with a combination of 29% Nickel, and 17% Cobalt, and the remaining balance is Iron. The quality of extension of Kovar matches both the borosilicate glasses and alumina ceramics which makes it one of the most admired controlled expansion alloys for hermetic sealing applications.
It not only possesses thermal expansion similar to glass but its nonlinear thermal expansion curve can often be made to match glass, thus allowing the joint to tolerate a wide temperature range.
