Lint Steels is a prominent manufacturer and seller of Mu Metal round Bars. We are using the best possible available raw materials for the fabrication of the MU Metal wires.
What is a MU Metal?
Mu-metal is a nickel-iron soft magnetic alloy with very high permeability appropriate for shielding sensitive electronic equipment against static or low-frequency magnetic fields. It has various compositions. Such as, it has approximately 77% nickel, 16% iron, 5% copper and 2% chromium or molybdenum.
MU METAL Round Bar: Mu-metal Round Bars have relative permeability of 80,000-100,000 compared to several thousand for ordinary steel. In addition, it has low coercively and magnetostriction, which results in low hysteresis loss. Its magnetic characteristics are same to other high permeability alloys such as Permalloy, but it is more malleable and workable.
Properties of MU Metal Wires:
Mu Metal wires gives the best shielding functionality among all screening products. Some salient features of the wires are:
• RF and LF electric shielding
• Frequency range from 100MHz to 18GHz
• Damping 50 dB up to 99.99%
• High air permeability
• Easily cutting and sewing
• Lightweight
Some Advantages of using the MU Metal Round Bars are:
These are non-oriented 80% nickel-iron-molybdenum alloy, which offers a saturation induction for low coercive forces, extremely high initial permeability, and maximum permeability with minimum hysteresis losses. It is ideal for use in extreme conditions such as in salt, air and vacuum. It is easily applicable and can be seized as per requirement.
• Odourless, transparent, Rot resistant
• Frost proof
• Washable
• Easily bendable and foldable
• Screening efficiency 99.99%
Application of MU Metal Round Bar:
(MuBar) is primarily used for CNC machined or forged components like custom tubing and thick wall tubing flanges, current sensors, high precision current transformer cores, ground fault circuits breaker etc.
The MU Metal Wires are used as great magnetic shielding for industrial applications and military research and development.
